Sanctuary
Located within a 4,400-square-foot converted church on Chicago’s North Side, this primary bath was designed to respect the building’s historic architecture while supporting everyday living. The room retains dramatic 18-foot ceilings and original arched details, which informed both the scale and restraint of the material palette. Integrated spa elements introduce comfort without competing with the architecture.

A DIVINE BATH DELIVERING PURE SERENITY
Bathed in celestial light, a grand two-person shower doubles as a steam sauna. Floor-to-ceiling honed marble, paired with the original brick, maintains a connection to the building’s origins. The restrained material palette modernizes the space while allowing the architecture to remain the focal point.

SERENE DETAIL
AND QUIET GRANDEUR
The vanity is crafted from salvaged wood elements from the church, grounding the space with history and warmth. A custom marble sink, stately apothecary faucets, and modern pendants create a cohesive expression that bridges past and present.
